With the current pandemic, the state of the music and touring industry has dramatically changed. Where were you when everything was brought to a halt?

When Covid hit I was on a ski trip in Quebec with my Mom and her Dad (my Papa).

How has that affected your plans for the coming year? Did you have a tour planned, upcoming album release?

I was supposed to be Mary (the lead) in The Secret Garden, and also Sour Kangaroo in Seussical. My recitals and singing competitions were cancelled, as well as in-person vocal and music lessons, and school.

What have you been doing to fill/make the most of your new-found free time at home? How are you supporting your mental health through all of this?

While at home I have been exploring music from around the world (and their food!), I have been taking a lot of acting classes, competing in virtual singing competitions, I have performed in live streamed and recorded musicals, I performed in an Indie Short Film, AND I recorded and released my first original song! I am very lucky to get to work with Chris Birkett, and he introduced me to Eric Alper who has been amazing in helping to get my voice heard! Chris and I plan to record a whole album one day. For my mental health, I find that having something to look forward to, even something small, is good for me. I also like to keep busy with things I love like songwriting and singing, and being around other artists, even just virtually. Throughout the pandemic I also took care of myself with a morning yoga stretch and an evening routine that helps me to relax and sleep well.

As things are reopening & restrictions are lifting have you booked any new gigs? Tours? Etc? If your region is still under restriction, how are dealing with the Covid third wave?

On September 24th I performed a couple songs at my first gig with a live audience at a restaurant in Burlington with my producer Chris Birkett. I am also rehearsing for 2 new musicals, one will be virtual and the other in-person as long as restrictions allow.

Favourite Starlite Room Moment?

I have never had a chance to go

Do you have a message for everyone at home reading this?

Remember that you can do anything that you choose to. You just have to believe in yourself! Everything always has a way of working itself out, and I find in the end it is better than what I could have imagined.
